I was fortunate enough to pass my driving test in 1990 as this was a great time to be a new driver. The 80’s produced a number of great hot hatches and even teenage newly qualified drivers could find insurance on these cars for a reasonable amount.

Lancaster Insurance to make Stanford Hall VW show debut

On Sunday 6th May, Volkswagens will be out in full force for the annual Stanford Hall VW Show. Celebrating its 42nd year, Lancaster Insurance will be attending the event for the first time, which is organised by the Volkswagen Owners’ Club.

There are two ways of regarding the Ford Consul Classic 315. The first is that it is the British equivalent of US suburban family transport - the sort of car that would appear in one of those early 1960s Technicolor Disney comedies where a Fedora-wearing dad really would say ‘Hi honey, I’m home!’

Put simply, a Euro-Barge is a large saloon of the 1950s and the 1960s that you might see in such fine pictures as From Russia with Love or Topkapi.
