The 1972 Earls Court Motor Show opened its doors at a challenging time for the nation’s car makers. Gilbert Hunt, the MD of Chrysler UK and the President of the SMMT, urged motoring journalists not to sell short the achievements of the British motor industry.

THE 1962 LONDON MOTOR SHOW

Its Wednesday the 17th October 1962 and your first port of call is to Stand 105 to appreciate three new Fords. The Zodiac, flagship of the Mk. III range, is only a few months old and the first Dagenham car with quad headlamps and a top speed in three figures.

On the 14th of November, the family of Sue Baker issued the following statement: It is with great sadness, that we share the news of Sue's passing. A doting mother to Ian & Hannah, a loving grandmother to Tom & George, and a wonderful mother-in-law to Lucy. She passed at home this morning with family around her.

The Austin A40 Devon – A Celebration

THE AUSTIN J40 – A CELEBRATION

Yesterday we celebrated the Austin A40 Devon, and today we pay tribute to its smaller but not less desirable stablemate. The Junior 40 Roadster, aka the 'J40', may not have been as rapid, but it was certainly far more economical as it used no petrol whatsoever. It is also one of the finest pedal cars ever to be built in the UK, so we are delighted to host two members of the Austin family on our stand at the NEC.

MEET THE OWNER - BRI BARKER AND HIS ROVER 3500 VIP

We have previously featured a few limited edition models in our blogs, but Bri Barker's 1976 Rover 3500 VIP has to be one of the most magnificent. Of course, any member of the P6 family is a splendid machine, but MPF 291 P has a metallic 'Platinum' paint finish, a radio-cassette player and even air conditioning.

THE ROVER P5 3-LITRE COUPE AT SIXTY

In October 1962, Rover announced its line-up for 1963. The P4 was now made in 95 and 110 forms, while the P5 was facelifted as the Mk. II with a more powerful engine and modified suspension. Most importantly, there was a new 3-Litre Coupe which offered the discerning motorist "a new sleekness of line and fleetness of foot".
