In 2024, I had the remarkable experience of riding in one of the very few surviving Morris Isis Travellers. This alone would have made the year – let alone the day – memorable but what made that journey so special was that was in the company of the great Rosie Hamilton, who sadly passed away recently.
To meet Rosie for the first time was to have the impression that you had known her for decades, such was the warmth of her personality. There was little or nothing she did not know about Morris Minors, or indeed so many other Nuffield Group products. The efforts she would invest in making a success of a photo shoot or a Morris Minor Owners’ Club event were nothing less than epic.
Over the years, so many people felt that a major show, be it at the NEC, the British Motor Museum or Beaulieu, was all the less without at least one encounter with Rosie. Our thoughts go to Sandy Hamilton and her family at this moment. And the sentiment “Rosie will be sorely missed” is one that will be shared with all her many, many friends in the classic car world.
