Introducing Emma Macphee, equine blogger for Lancaster

13 November 2024

Hello,

I’m Emma, a material planner based in Peterborough. When I’m not spending time with my horses, you’ll usually find me outdoors, hiking and exploring with my dog, Bonnie.

Horses have been my life for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been blogging about my two horses (Arlo and Arnie) for Lancaster’s sister company, Equesure, for a year now.

Horse and rider

I have a passion for Connemara ponies and love the process of backing and producing my own. I first sat on a horse when I was a baby, and was competing with my mum’s Connemara in showjumping competitions by the age of four. I take part in a variety of disciplines, but predominately showjumping or eventing.

I purchased all my horses from Ireland, unbacked and unseen, and produced them myself. Arlo and Arnie were both bought to be sold on, but have ended up having a home with me for life. They’re always there to cheer me up on the good days and the bad.

Horse jumping

It’s been a little while since my last blog post, but I’m back and looking forward to getting blogging again. Not only will I be covering the outings I go on with my horses, but also the way in which I travel to events with them in Frankie Fiat, my 3.5t horsebox. I’ll be discussing maintenance, travelling with friends and any other interesting stories I come across.

It’s great to know that when I’m out and about with my horses, I have the reassurance that my horsebox is covered by Lancaster Insurance. I can’t wait to take part in as many events as possible – and keep you all updated along the way!
