Choosing which Sporting Bears car to go out in at The NEC The Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show. How do you begin to choose?
There are just so many to choose ranging from the Amazing Citroen 2CV To the Jaguar E-type, American Ford Mustangs Right through to the Ultra-Modern cars like the Lotus Emira and the latest McLaren 750S.
I chose The McLaren 750s Convertible! (at least getting in to it for me was a dignified process as the roof was down)
Troy the owner of the car introduced himself to me and his first question was “am I happy with experiencing Acceleration?” yes give me all you’ve got I said.
Well, it was amazing, I didn’t realise that the roads around the NEC could be so much fun! And all done at road legal speeds it was the acceleration that was so outstanding together with the engine noise from a 740 BHP supercar.
Troy spent time on the journey talking me through the performance functions on the car and how they work “Yaw control” a managed track day drifting system, and sharing some performance comparisons with other recent supercars which Troy said the New McLaren 750S comfortably beats.
Sadly, the Hall entrance of the NEC show appeared all too quickly which meant my time in the McLaren was soon to be over.
I did get sit in the driving seat for a couple of pictures though!
With over £2 million pounds raised for children’s charities (All of the money goes to the charity and the car owners donate their time and petrol for free) not only did I have a great experience in ONE of my dream cars but the money I paid makes a special difference too.
Heres to my next dream ride…
Sporting Bears raised a grand total £19,250.91 over The Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show weekend. Sporting Bears Dream Rides® are organised by the club and run by club members with help from friends, all unpaid volunteers.
